In all, there were seven UVa signees and commitments in the All-Star game. Martinez was the lone Cavalier representing the East while Brooks, Damian Spradlin, Robert Armstrong , Keenan Carter , Stefan Orange and Tom Hagan represented the West squad. The East beat the West 21-7.

Martinez earns East MVP honors

Anthony Martinez shined during the East victory, earning offensive MVP honors and giving Cavalier fans something to look forward to over the next four years. Demonstrating excellent touch, accuracy, poise, and arm strength, the young quarterback completed 10 of 17 passes for 149 yards. For A-Mart, the game served as an excellent experience, playing with top-notch talent and competing on a new level. Ending the season on a positive note was also a plus, as it helped ease Patrick Henry’s loss to Phoebus in the State Championship game.
