Several Western Branch football players received scholarships in the 2005 class and head coach Lew Johnston hopes to see several more sign letters of intent in this year’s class. At this point, a top lineman who was a first-team all-district, first-team all-Tidewater and second team all-region selection this season as a junior, tops the list of 2006 Western Branch recruits.

The mark of offensive lineman Brett Ainsley ‘s high school football career has been versatility. He has played literally all of the offensive line positions at one point or another and was even a tight end on the varsity squad his freshman year. He has improved on his 6-3, 265-pound physique from this past season and is now bigger, stronger and gearing up for a big senior campaign.
