New Jersey Star Making Visits

A tremendous athlete, Carteret (N.J.) star Jason Adjepong combines a 6-3, 245-pound frame with 4.69 speed in the 40-yard dash. As a junior last season, he racked-up 87 tackles including 22 tackles-for-loss and 12 sacks at defensive end en route to earning all-state, all-group and all-conference honors. On offense, he rushed for 330 yards on 61 carries and scored four touchdowns.

Adjepong has received close to 30 written Division 1A scholarship offers with more, including Ohio State, expected soon. He is considering all of the schools that have offered but hopes to get to a more manageable number by the end of the month.

“I want to get my number down,” Adjepong said. “Unfortunately, I have to start eliminating some schools and I’m going to do that later on this month. I’ll stick with how many ever schools I have at that time. If I feel I’ve found the right place, I’ll fire.”

Schools the New Jersey standout has visited include Maryland, Penn State, Rutgers, Virginia and Virginia Tech. The visit to Blacksburg took place this past weekend. It may have been Adjepong’s first time at Virginia Tech, but he had a good idea of what to expect beforehand.
