Last Saturday’s Spring Practice…

Perhaps the most the impressive turnout at last Saturday’s spring practice was from the offensive line targets. Four prospects – East Meadow’s (N.Y.) John Elliott , Pottsville’s (PA) Brad Hallick , Stone Bridge’s Andrew Nuss and Union’s (N.J.) Desmond Stapleton – showed up and all had good things to say about the experience.

Among the bunch, 6-4 ½, 290-pound John Elliott has the most scholarship offers at this point with 18. He had made unofficial visits to Maryland, Michigan, Notre Dame and Rutgers, and Virginia stacked up very well with his previous experiences.

“He loved Virginia,” East Meadow head coach Vinny Mascia said. “He said it was great, coach Groh was great and the whole campus was great. It was really the first school he went a little nuts over. It’s a good sign because he probably saw something he liked.”
