Nerves Aside, Signing Day Good For Hoos

Signing Day for 2007 has past. My reaction? Whew. Signing Day causes me way too much stress every year. As I recently noted, I am Chicken Little when it comes to recruiting. Always have been, always will be. But having said that, I think that many great recruiters are Chicken Littles, too, always staying on top of the game out of fear that the sky may be falling.

But is it still being paranoid if the sky really is falling? A couple of months ago, there certainly was a possibility that the UVa’s 2007 recruiting class could come crashing down. Given the Cavaliers’ performance on the field this year, several schools had pegged UVa recruits as low-hanging fruit. But the staff did a tremendous job holding together the class, landing signed letters of intent from 24 recruits.
