The JPJ’s Top 10 Moments

I’ve tried to move on and shift my focus after basketball season, a task that is admittedly difficult for me in any year. Moving on after Virginia’s 2006-07 season has proven even more difficult than usual. This year, the Cavaliers were not only a fun and entertaining team to watch, they were also highly successful as ACC co-regular season champions.

Throw in the fact that it was the inaugural season for the John Paul Jones Arena and this could be a season long remembered by Hoos. Let’s reminisce a little with 10 top moments from the JPJ. Share your favorite moments on the Basketball Board.

10. The Georgia Tech Comeback

Jason Cain scored all 7 of his points in the final 7 minutes as UVa rallied past GT.

Following a disappointing road loss at Miami, Virginia returned home to take on Georgia Tech on February 24 and for most of the afternoon it was ugly for the Hoos. The Yellow Jackets sucked the life out of the building and physically pounded the Cavaliers with wave after wave of players that looked a lot like defensive backs and linebackers. Despite a good start, UVa trailed throughout the second half and with less than four minutes to play, things looked bleak as GT led 69-62.
