Robinson Notes: Stanton, Laiti Updates

Robinson (Fairfax, VA) senior defensive end Jordan Stanton first year of organized football may have only been last year as a junior, but he has shown talent and potential in these past two years. The 6-4, 240-pound senior was a unanimous first-team all-district selection this season, an impressive accomplishment considering his lack of experience. He has also been performing well in the classroom, something that could help him earn a Division 1A scholarship offer.

“It is a situation where we were waiting for his most recent test scores. Well, he got them and the scores are much better,” Robinson head coach Mark Bendorf said. “I think that is a key piece of his recruitment. He has made a lot of progress academically since his freshman year. He is looking pretty good now.

“On the field, he had a very good year. It is evident to me that he is just scratching the surface of his potential.”

Stanton, who finished the 2008 season with 81 total tackles, boasts offers from James Madison and Old Dominion. And the two major Division 1A programs have kept tabs on the talented athlete all season.
