6-6, 270-pound Mark Shuman took in Prospect Days at the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech last month. The two in-state programs have been high on the Fork Union Military Academy (VA) rising senior’s list, but how does the race shake out after visits to each program?

“He went to Virginia and he liked that,” said Fork Union Military Academy postgraduate head coach John Shuman, who is Mark’s father. “Then he went to Virginia Tech. I think he feels comfortable at Virginia Tech.”

Coach Shuman expounded on the younger Shuman’s interest in the Hokies. Mark’s brother Ryan, also an offensive lineman, just concluded his college football career at Virginia Tech.
