Impressive jumbo athlete boasts Virginia offer…

Boston College High (Boston, MA) jumbo athlete Andrew Tallman missed most of his junior season due to injuries, but he did play in two playoff games and help his team capture a state championship. And the 6-6, 255-pound rising senior has impressed enough to garner Division 1A official scholarship offers despite the limited action in 2008.

“I think he has impressed with his size combined with speed and strength,” BC High head coach Jon Bartlett said. “He is 6-6, 255 pounds, but he also is running the 110-meter hurdles in spring track. He definitely is a rare talent with his size and speed.”

Coach Bartlett added, “I’m definitely looking forward to his senior year because he hasn’t had a lot of football because of injuries. His sophomore year, he slammed the door on his finger and had to have it surgically repaired. The doctor told him he couldn’t play football if he wanted it to heal. He lost his sophomore year to that. Last year, which was my first year, he had a number of injuries so we didn’t see him until the end. He had two nice playoff games. He has been snake-bit by injuries, but hopefully those days are behind him. He is gearing up for a big year.”
