Taylor Set To Camp At UVa

Thomas Dale (Chester, VA) athlete Quinton Taylor is gearing up for what will be an important summer. The 6-1, 195-pound junior plans to attend one-day camps at James Madison, Richmond, Virginia and Wake Forest. All four programs want to take a closer look at Taylor, who started at quarterback for the Knights this past season but could end up at another position on the college level.

“I’d call him an athlete,” Knights head coach Kevin Tucker said of Taylor in an earlier interview. “I think he’ll play defense on the next level. We’ll play him a lot on defense next season. Quinton has a 4.1 GPA. He’s a big, strong kid. He is a student of the game.”

Taylor believes he could play quarterback on the next level, but he is also looking forward to showing college coaches that he can play another position if necessary. Safety is the position the University of Virginia coaches have initial interest in him playing.

“I have size like a safety, but I only have film at quarterback,” Taylor said. “I feel like I could play a lot of different spots. I think safety is an option, if that’s where a college is recruiting me. I think I have pretty good size for a safety.”
