Harold Talks Camp, Recruiting

Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) defensive end/wide receiver Eli Harold has been offered by 26 major FBS schools, so he obviously doesn’t have to attend camps or combines to get noticed by college coaches. Testing his talents against some of the country’s top prospects is an opportunity he welcomes, however, and he plans to do just that next month.

“I’m going to the Nike Training Camp in Eugene, Oregon, in June,” Harold said, speaking after a 7-on-7 competition in Virginia Beach. “I’m going to get up there and compete with the best guys in the country. I’ve never been on the West coast. I’ve never been that far. The farthest I’ve been is Atlanta. I’m going to go out there and show ’em what I got.”

Harold starts at wide receiver and defensive end for the Dolphins, but he makes no secret of his desire to play on the defensive side of the ball in college. Defensive end specifically is the position he wants to play.

“I’m trying to prove [in Eugene] that being 6’4″, 218 or 220 pounds, at defensive end that I can come off the ball with my first step, which is lethal, and I’m very aggressive. I can use my hands to get the big guys out of the way,” Harold said.
