Can Mike London and the Cavaliers surpass last season’s win total in 2011?

Once again it’s time for the annual schedule breakdown. There are six winnable games on the schedule in my estimation and with some progress from the run defense and the quarterback position, I can see as many as eight possible wins. Not likely, but possible. Let’s wrap up TheSabre.com’s month-long “Hoo Preview” with a closer look at the 2011 Virginia football schedule.

First Quarter of the season

  • Projected Record: 2-1
  • Best Case Scenario: 3-0
  • Overview: The Cavaliers open the season against in-state and nationally ranked Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) foe William & Mary, and then hit the road for games in Indiana and Chapel Hill. Virginia should roll into UNC 2-0 – the question is can the Hoos take advantage of the turmoil in Carolina to pick up a third consecutive win?
