Playing on the varsity level was a bit of an adjustment, Thomas Dale (Chester, VA) sophomore CJ Reavis admits.
“I’ve always been bigger than everybody else in my class, but when I got to high school, people were faster and bigger,” Reavis said. “I worked hard on my fundamentals, like my backpedal. After a while, I started showing what I could do.
“I knew it would be hard, but I kept working.”
Reavis, a linebacker/safety for the Knights, tallied over 80 tackles in eight games as a starter this past season. His breakout performance came in a 14-0 loss to Hermitage in the Central Region playoffs.
