Briarcrest Christian (Nashville, TN) 5-star power forward Austin Nichols made an official visit to the University of Virginia last weekend. The 6’9″ senior arrived in Charlottesville on Friday, and in the early morning hours on Saturday he tweeted his initial thoughts on the experience:

“UVA is great! Great atmosphere! The coaches are also great!”

Earlier today, Briarcrest head coach John Harrington took some time to talk about Nichols’ UVa official visit experience.

“He got home on Sunday, and on Sunday night Vanderbilt coaches were in-home. Duke was in [on Monday night]. It has been a whirlwind, but I finally talked to Austin [about the Virginia official visit] a little bit yesterday,” Harrington said. “One thing I wanted to say is he said he liked how humble the kids were. The players… He liked how nice they were. I thought that was an interesting comment from him.”
