In-State Junior OL Scores Fourth Offer

Pittsburgh recently became the fourth major FBS program to offer a scholarship to Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA) junior offensive lineman Coleman Thomas .

“[Panthers head coach Paul] Chryst, I talked to him at the beginning of the summer,” Thomas said. “The recruiting coordinator offered me over Facebook a few weeks ago. I plan on going there for a football junior day.”

Virginia, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia have also offered the 6’5″, 295-pound Thomas, who has started at center on the varsity level for three years. He has been to West Virginia numerous times over the years (his family has had WVU football season tickets for almost a decade) and has taken in games at UVa and Tech.

In addition to a trip to Pitt, Thomas says he does plan on attending junior days in Blacksburg, Charlottesville, and Morgantown. No dates have been offered to him as of yet, but coaches from those schools have indicated they will release dates soon. Other schools may be added to the visit schedule should new offers come in. Duke, Missouri and Penn State are among those expressing serious interest.
