Virginia Offers Western Branch DB

The University of Virginia is the latest school to offer a scholarship to rising senior DaiQuan Lawrence , a 6’1″, 180-pound cornerback prospect out of Western Branch High School (Chesapeake, VA). UVa is the second ACC offer Lawrence has received, joining Wake Forest. Hampton, Norfolk State, and North Carolina Central have extended full scholarships as well.

Of his latest offer, the Bruins standout said: “Actually, I have some friends who play for UVa now. I like [Virginia cornerbacks coach] Chip West. I like how they play the DBs.”

Lawrence attended the Penn State and Maryland games in Charlottesville last fall, and in light of the recent offer he plans to make a return trip to UVa this weekend.

“I liked the atmosphere the past two times I went there. This weekend, I don’t know. I don’t know what to expect. I’m going in with an open mind,” said Lawrence, who isn’t sure if he will make the trek to UVa on Friday or Saturday.
