Spring Superlatives – Most Difficult To Predict

When it comes to Virginia football, you can’t go more than a few days without talking about the quarterback question. You know, the “who is UVa’s starter” question. Or the “will Mike London platoon quarterbacks” question. Or the “will any quarterback emerge as a star” question. No matter how you frame it, however, the quarterback position remains the biggest piece of the puzzle at Virginia. So with that in mind the next stop for the Spring Superlatives series is “Most Difficult To Predict.”

After all, I’m not sure anyone has an idea of who the starter will be when BYU visits Charlottesville on Aug. 31. I know I don’t. When message board poster 1969hoo asked for my thoughts on that 15 days ago, I thought I could figure out. I haven’t. The arguments and guesses are out there. There are three theories running the race of late:

  • A shaky offensive line means UVa needs a scrambler so David Watford will start.
  • A shaky offensive line means UVa needs a quick thrower with accuracy so Greyson Lambert will start.
  • UVa needs to stretch the field and it needs an experienced guy in there with the other weapons on offense so Phillip Sims will start.

And at the line … it’s a photo finish!
