Recent reports indicated UVa was slipping in the race for Bishop Sullivan (Virginia Beach, VA) senior wide receiver Jamil Kamara . While it seems obvious that Virginia’s 2013 season struggles have given other teams a real shot at landing the 6’2″, 200-pound prospect, the Cavaliers remain very much in contention. Kamara confirmed to TheSabre.com that he has narrowed his list to three schools and UVa has made the cut.

“Yeah,” Kamara wrote in a text message, answering if reports that he had narrowed his list to three schools were accurate. “Wisconsin, Pitt, and UVA.”

Kamara has already taken an official visit to Wisconsin. He’ll take officials to Pitt and UVa the next two weekends, beginning with Pitt the weekend of November 29-December 2. Kamara will be in Charlottesville the weekend of December 6-8, which is when current Cavalier commit Corwin Cutler plans to make his official visit as well. Kamara has said before that Cutler, a quarterback, is a major plus for the Cavaliers.

Once finished with his officials, Kamara will have almost a month to consider his options before announcing his commitment at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday, January 4.
