Northside (Roanoke, VA) takes on The James Monroe in the 3A state championship at Liberty University this Saturday at noon. The Vikings feature a number of talented players, including class of 2015 lineman Chance Hall, who has been offered a scholarship by the University of Virginia.

“Chance was a two-way player for us this year. He stepped in at left tackle on the offensive side. He has been absolutely amazing on the offensive line,” Vikings head coach Burt Torrence said. “He found his niche. He enjoys that. I think he prefers defense, but he found he can be just as physical on the offensive line. He was a tight end last year.”

Some college coaches are recruiting the 6’5″, 270-pound Hall as a defensive tackle, while others see him as an offensive lineman.

“I think most see him as an offensive lineman,” Torrence said. “I know Maryland and ODU see him as a defensive tackle. UVa has expressed a desire to play him on the offensive side. He has shown great feet and he’s very smart.”
