Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA) standout Austin Clark scored his 15th scholarship offer last Saturday, when South Carolina came through for the class of 2015 offensive tackle. The new offer coincided with another recruiting trip for the 6’6”, 295-pound prospect, who was at Virginia Tech last Saturday for a Junior Day event.
“Virginia Tech, they just got a new offensive line coach (Stacy Searels), so I’ve only had the opportunity to talk to him twice now. It was good to get to know him,” Clark answered when asked what stood out to him about his latest trip to Blacksburg. “He broke down some film and was teaching us some new things. There was getting to know the new coach, and I got to see more student life, so the visit improved what I think of Virginia Tech. I like it a little more.”
Clemson was the destination of Clark’s first Junior Day experience of the year, and it took place the weekend before Virginia Tech. Last year, Clark made visits to Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
“Clemson was really cool,” Clark said. “I got to touch the rock going into the stadium and things like that. It was good.”
