RALEIGH, N.C. – Evan Nolte’s entire family made the trip to Raleigh for the NCAA Tournament this weekend. He gave them plenty to cheer about Friday night as Virginia dispatched Coastal Carolina, 70-59.

Nolte’s older brother Connor, who played at Georgia, flew in from Portland to be at the games while his sister Lauren made it up from Atlanta along with his parents. Connor Nolte was on a team at Georgia that made it to the NCAA Tournament so he wanted to share the moment with his brother.

“He didn’t get in the game. He played at Georgia. He was so excited for me. He knows how big a deal the NCAA Tournament is and he was dying to come out here,” Evan Nolte said. “He means the world to me. He and my sister. They both came up and took off work to come see me. It’s special to have them here too.”

Nolte didn’t disappoint with 8 points in 11 minutes against Coastal Carolina. Nolte made two triples as part of a quick 11-3 surge that broke a 47-47 tie with less than 9 minutes to play. That gave the Hoos five players with at least 8 points as Anthony Gill (17), Malcolm Brogdon (14), London Perrantes (12), and Joe Harris (11) all surpassed the 10-point barrier.
