Eldridge Discusses Commitment To UVa

Since making a verbal commitment to the University of Virginia last Thursday, life has been “less stressful,” said Kettle Run (Nokesville, VA) rising senior wide receiver prospect David Eldridge III.

“I feel a little better, too, because UVa is closer to home. I made my decision based on academic reasons plus the connection I had with the coaching staff. I’ve been in contact with Virginia for a while now. I talk to Coach Hagans and Coach Oliver a lot. I talked it over with my family and decided that’s where I wanted to pursue my college opportunities.”

The 6’1”, 165-pound prospect spurned scholarship offers from Boston College, Illinois, Old Dominion and Wake Forest in favor of the Hoos. Michigan had just made contact as well, but Eldridge decided the time was right to pledge to head coach Mike London and company.

“About two or three weeks ago, I was pretty solid I would commit [to UVa]. I talked it over with my parents and committed,” he said.
