Robinson Set To Choose Between UVa and UL

Parkview (Lilburn, GA) rising senior tight end/defensive end G.G. Robinson, whose father, Gerald, played football at Auburn, will announce his college choice this Thursday, August 14. The younger Robinson revealed his intentions on Twitter, which is where he will also reveal his commitment. At this point, no time has been given as to when the announcement will take place.

According to Robinson’s tweet, UVa and Louisville are the finalists.

Just before tweeting his plans to commit on Thursday, Robinson wrote the following tweet regarding Cavalier head coach Mike London. One would think this bodes well for the Hoos’ chances, but we’ll find out for sure on Thursday.

The elder Robinson starred at defensive end at Auburn before moving on to an NFL career that began in 1986, when he was drafted in the first round by the Minnesota Vikings. His professional career ended in 1994. G.G., a 6’4”, 260-pound prospect, could play tight end or defensive end on the next level. He’ll be a 3-year performer on the varsity level.

247Sports ranks Robinson as a 3-star prospect and the no. 36 tight end in the nation. Scout.com ranks him as a 3-star and the no. 52 tight end in the nation, while Rivals has him as a 3-star recruit as a strong-side defensive end. Other reported offers for the Parkview standout include Iowa State, Kansas State, Mississippi State, North Carolina, South Florida, Syracuse and Wake Forest.
