UVa-bound forward Sacha Killeya-Jones showed off his range and shooting touch this past Tuesday, when he poured in 19 points in a 71-61 home loss to Blue Ridge School (St. George, VA). The 6’10” junior, who is in his first year at Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg, VA), reflected on his performance and discussed what he is working to improve as the season goes on.

“My shot was really falling, which was good. That’s one thing I’ve been working on, my jump shooting,” said Killeya-Jones. “Also my strength. We haven’t been able to lift for a while (VES was making some renovations), so getting back in the weight room has been great for my strength. Just keep eating, trying to put on more weight. Ball-handling, my all-around game, face-up moves out of the short corner and high post… these are things I’ve been working on.”

Killeya-Jones gave University of Virginia head coach Tony Bennett a verbal commitment on January 1, 2015. On Tuesday, Bennett and Cavalier assistant Ron Sanchez were on hand to watch the talented recruit in action against Blue Ridge.

“I was glad they were there,” Killeya-Jones said. “I saw Coach Sanchez before the game. It was great to have them here.”
