UVa MBB Recruits In Playoff Action Today

Jarred Reuter, Power Forward, Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.), UVa class of 2015 signee

Brewster Academy defeated New Hampton School and St. Thomas More last week to capture the 2015 NEPSAC Class AAA postseason tournament championship. This is the third straight NEPSAC AAA postseason title for Brewster, which features the 6’8”, 245-pound Reuter, who signed with the Hoos last November.

Reuter had 10 points and six rebounds in Brewster’s semifinal win over New Hampton. He then had nine boards in the title game against St. Thomas More.

Brewster (31-1) moves on to the National Prep School Championship tourney, which begins today. Reuter and company take the court against Tilton at 3 pm.

Ty Jerome, Combo Guard, Iona Prep (New Rochelle, N.Y.), UVa class of 2016 commitment

Ty Jerome scored 26 points and dished out five assists as Iona Prep downed Archbishop Molloy, 69-63, in the CHSAA Class AA quarterfinals this past Sunday. The Gaels rallied from down 11 to get the win, which sets up a semifinal meeting against Xaverian at 6 pm tonight.

Jerome, a 6’4” combo guard, had 33 points in Iona Prep’s previous game, a win over St. Raymond’s in the CHSAA AA Archdiocesan championship.

Kyle Guy, Combo Guard, Lawrence Central (Indianapolis, IN), UVa class of 2016 commitment

Lawrence Central saw its 2014/2015 season come to an end with a 53-48 loss to Lawrence North. The 6’3” Guy, who is a consensus 4-star recruit, had 34 points in an opening round victory over Roncali. He had 10 points against Lawrence North in the Sectional 10 second round last Friday.

On the year, Guy averaged over 20 points and almost four rebounds per game. He also averaged over three assists and over one steal per contest.
