Sabre Scoop: UVa Football’s First One-Day Of 2015

TheSabre.com was on hand for coverage of UVa football’s first one-day camp of 2015. At least one new scholarship offer has been extended today, and it went to North Stafford High School (Stafford, VA) rising sophomore tight end/defensive lineman Nana Asiedu.

Asiedu played middle school football but did not play as a freshman at North Stafford (Stafford, VA) this past season, choosing instead to only play varsity basketball. He did well in basketball, earning second-team all-conference honors, but following the season approached Wolverines varsity football head coach Joe Mangano about playing football.

Coach Mangano was not surprised that Asiedu landed an offer today.

“He has everything they want. He is 6’5”. He’s 240 pounds. He’s only 15 years old. He’s a competitor. He’s going to be a great tight end and defensive lineman for us this season. He has the chance to be a top-notch player in the state,” Mangano said.
