University of Virginia head coach Tony Bennett is giving St. Anthony’s (Jersey City, N.J.) class of 2016 combo guard Jagan Mosely a closer look.

“Coach Bennett called me before I left for Victor Oladipo Camp and we had a 20 minute conversation about his interest in me,” Mosely wrote in a direct message over Twitter. The 6’3″, 200-pound rising senior has competed at the Ty Lawson/Victor Oladipo All-American Camp Tuesday-Friday of this week. Coach Bennett was in attendance at least one of those days.

Mosely added: “[Bennett] said he already has two commitments in my class/position but they’re looking for an athletic backcourt piece that’s able to guard the main guy on the other team.”

A second-team all-state selection this past season, Mosely averaged 13 points per game while helping St. Anthony’s to a 28-2 record. He played for the New Jersey Playaz on the Nike EYBL circuit this spring and summer, averaging 11.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in 17 games. Mosely shot 49.6-percent from the field including 25-percent from 3-point range (just 24 of his 137 shots were from beyond the arc).
