Class Of 2017 Notes: Hoos Offer TE Griffin Sestili

At least three high school juniors have received scholarship offers from the University of Virginia football program since last Monday, October 5.

ANTJUAN SIMMONS

Antjuan Simmons, a 6’1″, 210-pound linebacker/running back prospect, scored an offer from the Hoos on October 5. UVa is the latest in a run of scholarship offers the talented prospect has landed this fall. He now boasts over 20 scholarship offers in total, including LSU, Louisville, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin, among others.

Simmons, who hails from Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, visited Ohio State this past weekend and reportedly will visit Michigan this weekend.

DONOVAN JETER

One day after offering Simmons, head coach Mike London extended an offer to 6’5″, 285-pound defensive lineman Donovan Jeter, a product of Beaver Falls Area High School (Beaver Falls, PA). In this tweet, Jeter noted that Virginia was the 13th school to offer.

Penn State, Pittsburgh, Michigan State, Ohio State, Tennessee and West Virginia are among the other schools that have come through with scholarships.

GRIFFIN SESTILI

North Allegheny (Wexford, PA) junior tight end Griffin Sestili shared some good news via Twitter this past Saturday.

UVa may be the first major FBS school to offer the 6’3″, 230-pound Sestili (his sophomore season highlights are below). We will reach out to him for further comment soon.

North Allegheny boasts another major FBS prospect in the class of 2017 in offensive lineman Joshua Lugg, who, after receiving double-digit scholarship offers, verbally committed to Notre Dame.
