Division 1 MBB Early Signing Period Starts Wednesday

Lawrence Central (Indianapolis, IN) combo guard Kyle Guy, Voyager Academy (Durham, N.C.) forward/center Jay Huff, Friends’ Central (Wynnewood, PA) small forward DeAndre Hunter and Iona Prep (New Rochelle, N.Y.) point guard Ty Jerome are expected to sign letters of intent with the University of Virginia during Division 1 men’s basketball’s Early Signing Period, which begins on Wednesday, November 11 and lasts until November 18.

Coach Tony Bennett and company have assembled one of the most highly ranked classes in Virginia history. As of this writing, here is where Virginia’s 2016 Class is ranked according to national recruiting outlets ESPN, Rivals, 247Sports and Scout…

– No. 5 in the nation per ESPN.com
– No. 6 in the nation per Rivals.com
– No. 6 in the nation per 247Sports.com
– No. 8 in the nation per Scout.com

All four future Cavaliers are ranked on the 4-star level by at least two of the four national recruiting outlets. Guy, a 6’3” senior, is ranked a 5-star recruit by ESPN.com and is rated on the 4-star level by Rivals, Scout and 247Sports. The 6’4” Jerome and 6’7” Hunter are consensus 4-star prospects, while Huff, who measures in at 6’11”, is rated a 4-star recruit by Scout and 247Sports.

We have confirmed that Jerome will sign his letter of intent on Thursday at 12:50 p.m. EST. Guy will also sign his letter of intent on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. EST. As soon as we confirm when Huff and Hunter plan to sign, we’ll let you know.
