This past Saturday’s Junior Day recruiting event was the second such event in as many weekends for the UVA football program. Neither weekend resulted in a commitment, but Bronco Mendenhall and company do seem to be making some inroads on the class of 2017 recruiting trail.
OFFENSIVE LINEMEN
No question, the offensive and defensive lines will be a major focus for Virginia in the 2017 Class. At least one new line scholarship offer was extended on Saturday, and that was to Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) junior Johnny Jordan. The 6’3”, 290-pound Jordan was offered as an interior lineman, either a center or guard.
“The offer means a lot to me,” Jordan wrote in a Twitter direct message. “I have two former high school teammates on UVA’s roster so it would be nice to play with them again. UVA would probably be near the top of the schools that have offered me. I really liked what I saw on my visit yesterday.”
