2017 Class TE John Kirven Is No Longer Committed To UVA

Woodberry Forest (VA) tight end prospect John Kirven announced via Twitter that he is no longer committed to the University of Virginia. Kirven, who verbally committed when Mike London was still head coach, was UVA’s lone class of 2017 commitment.

Whether new Cavalier head coach Bronco Mendenhall will continue to pursue Kirven or whether Kirven will still consider Virginia is unclear at this point, but we hope to get comment from the 6’5″, 240-pound prospect as soon as possible to find out. Kirven last visited Virginia this past Saturday, when he attended the UVA/Louisville men’s basketball game to support his older brother and UVA men’s basketball senior walk-on, Caid Kirven, who was playing his final game inside John Paul Jones Arena.

As noted above, Virginia now has zero commitments in the class of 2017.
