The 2016 McDonald’s All-American game takes place this Wednesday, March 30, and for the first time in eight years the University of Virginia men’s basketball program will have a recruit playing in this prestigious high school event. Lawrence Central (Indianapolis, IN) senior combo guard Kyle Guy is that recruit and is UVA’s 11th McDonald’s All-American in school history.
Cavalier fans will have two opportunities to watch Guy in action this week. He’ll first participate in the Powerade Jam Fest and 3-Point Contest, which can be seen on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. EST, before playing in the McDonald’s All-American game, which can be seen live on ESPN at 9 p.m. EST on Wednesday.
Lawrence Central finished the 2015/2016 season with a 19-7 overall record, which included two victories in the Sectional 10 playoffs. Guy averaged 23.5 points per game his senior season. Per MaxPreps.com, the consensus 4-star recruit made 54-percent of his field goals and connected on 43-percent of his 3-point tries.
Along with forward/center Jay Huff, shooting guard/small forward De’Andre Hunter, and point guard Ty Jerome, Guy will enroll at UVA in June.
