UVA, VT Impress ATH Germane Crowell Jr.

If he has his way, Carver (Winston-Salem, N.C.) athlete Germane Crowell Jr. will have made his college choice by the end of next month, possibly sooner.

“I’m really waiting on my dad to give me the okay,” Crowell said. “I want to make my decision in a month. My dad just says to be patient. If I feel strongly about something, I’ll feel the same way in a few weeks as I do now. He just tells me to be patient throughout this whole thing.”

The younger Crowell’s father, Germane, has been through the recruiting process before. He starred at wide receiver at UVA before moving on to an NFL career, primarily with the Detroit Lions. The elder Crowell is now heading into his fourth season as head coach of Carver’s varsity football squad.

Duke, East Carolina, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland, NC State, Penn State, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest highlight the list of 14 schools that have offered Germane Jr., who is rated a 3-star prospect by 247Sports.com. The 6’3”, 180-pound junior has visited six schools — Duke, Florida, NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest – and has plans to travel to Florida, NC State, Penn State, Virginia, and Virginia Tech in the coming weeks.
