UVA QB Commit Lindell Stone Ready For Final Game At Woodberry Forest

Quarterback Lindell Stone and his Woodberry Forest (VA) teammates have much to consider as they head into Saturday’s matchup against Episcopal (Alexandrian, VA).

For Stone and other seniors, this will be the final game of their Woodberry Forest football careers. There is the rivalry with Episcopal, which Stone says draws roughly 10,000 fans. There is the game itself, which pits an 8-1 Woodberry Forest squad against an unbeaten Episcopal. Both teams feature major Division 1 prospects. Woodberry’s Stone, Terrell Jana, and John Kirven are Cavalier commits, while Episcopal features Michigan-bound defensive end Luiji Vilain and Penn State-bound defensive back Jonathan Sutherland.

And then there is the fact that this will be Clint Alexander’s final game as Woodberry Forest head coach. Coach Alexander, who announced his departure early on in the season, has led the Tigers to an 81-31-1 record in 12 seasons.

“I think it’ll be interesting,” Stone said. “None of us have been in a situation like this, where we are going into a game with so many headlines. It’s something we will have to manage. Woodberry is building a stadium around the field, so you see how big of a deal this game is. Coach Alexander’s last game. We know he just wants us to give it our all. I think we will stay calm. We have been through adversity.”
