Commitment Tyler Fannin A Candidate To Play A Significant Role For UVA Next Season

Mill Creek (Hoschton, GA) center prospect and future Virginia Cavalier Tyler Fannin posted his senior season highlights earlier this month. Cavalier fans might want to take a close look, because the 6’3”, 290-pound prospect has a chance to be UVA’s starting center in the 2017 season.

Head coach Bronco Mendenhall and offensive line coach Garett Tujague are recruiting Fannin to play center, a position the Virginia staff will have to fill next season with two-year starter Jackson Matteo now gone. Early candidates who are already in Charlottesville include rising junior Jake Fieler, a reserve guard who did receive limited snaps at center this past season, as well as rising sophomore R.J. Proctor and rising redshirt freshman Dillon Reinkensmeyer. The latter two players have received practice snaps at center.

Barring a current player grabbing a stronghold on the position in spring practice, the center spot certainly appears to be up for grabs.
