Georgia WR Shawn Smith Commits To Virginia

UVA football’s big recruiting weekend has yielded at least one verbal commitment.

Brunswick (GA) senior wide receiver Shawn Smith presumably still has one more day remaining on his official visit on Grounds, but he couldn’t wait to announce his college choice. Via Twitter, the 5’11”, 165-pound standout and one-time South Carolina commit revealed his intentions to play for head coach Bronco Mendenhall at the University of Virginia.

Smith becomes the second wide receiver recruit to commit in UVA’s 2017 Class, joining Good Counsel (Olney, MD) prospect Darnel Pratt Jr. Virginia has 19 class of 2017 commitments in total. Four other prospects enrolled midyear.

Check out Smith’s career highlights below and stay tuned for more from him and other visitors in the coming days.
