Football Recruiting Notes: Linemen, Receivers Among Latest Offers

The Virginia football program extended another handful of class of 2018 scholarship offers this week. Detroit Catholic Central (Detroit, MI) offensive lineman Nick Carey, who attended UVA’s Junior Day on March 4, revealed earlier today that he now has an offer from the Cavaliers.

Virginia is the first BCS offer for the 6’7”, 290-pound junior. Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Florida, Marshall, Miami (OH) and Toledo offered previously. Check out his junior season highlights below, courtesy of Hudl.com.

Blake Anderson, Offensive Lineman, 6’5”, 310 pounds, West Forsyth (Cumming, GA)

Anderson tweets that UVA is the first school to offer him.

Nadir Thompson, Athlete, 5’10”, 165 pounds, Southern Nash (Spring Hope, N.C.)

The Southern Nash (Spring Hope, N.C.) standout has been committed to NC State since May of 2016. Duke and Virginia Tech have offered as well.

Wooby Theork, Wide Receiver, 5’10”, 160 pounds, Naples (FL)

Arizona, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Purdue and South Florida have also offered the Sunshine State speedster with the great name.

Miles Battle, Wide Receiver, 6’4”, 185 pounds, Cypress Creek (Houston, TX)

Virginia has quite a bit of competition for this 4-star prospect, who also boasts offers from Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Oregon, TCU and others.

Will Lawrence, Offensive Lineman, 6’4”, 285 pounds, Harding Academy (Memphis, TN)

Lawrence boasts BCS offers from across the country. Maryland, Iowa State, and Virginia are the latest.

Morrison Visits

Greater Atlanta Christian (Norcross, GA) athlete Trey Morrison visited Virginia and West Virginia last week. The 5’10”, 175-pound junior boasts offers from both schools as well as Boston College, Colorado State, East Carolina and Wake Forest, among others.
