Earlier this week, I tackled Part I of 10 preseason questions facing Tony Bennett’s Virginia basketball team. Some of the questions from part one focused on play near the rim – rim protectors on defense and guards on offense – and the ‘X Factor’ for the season. Read Part I here.
Before the Hoos tip off their season, it’s time to look at five more questions. This set tackles the rotation, three individuals, and four-year starter London Perrantes. Let’s hit the hardwood for some answers.
5. How long will it take to settle the rotation? Will the junior guards rise to the challenge?
A year ago, the rotation expectations fell into two groups. The first: everyone knows. The second: not sure. Malcolm Brogdon, Anthony Gill, Mike Tobey, and London Perrantes along with Jack Salt, Jarred Reuter, Austin Nichols, and Mamadi Diakite all had roles easy to predict. The preseason question became ‘What roles do the others have?’
