Running Back PK Kier Lands UVA Offer

Millwood (Winchester, VA) running back PK Kier verbally committed to James Madison University on April 16, but that hasn’t stopped other schools from extending scholarship offers. You can now add Virginia to the list of schools that have offered the 5’11”, 205-pound rising senior.

Ivy League schools Harvard and Yale offered scholarship opportunities to Kier in late April before Bronco Mendenhall extended an offer today. In addition to the aforementioned schools, Marshall, Texas State and Bucknell have offered as well.

What this latest news means to Kier is something we hope to find out soon. In the meantime, check out the Millbrook star’s junior season highlights below. Kier averaged 8.6 yards per carry this past season, finishing with 1,352 yards rushing and 19 total touchdowns. He added 143 yards receiving on just seven receptions.

Coach Mendenhall offered another class of 2017 in-state prospect last Monday, May 23, when St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Alexandria, VA) defensive end Ryan Thaxtontweeted that he had been offered by the Hoos. The 6’5″, 245-pound rising senior announced yesterday that Tennessee has now offered, giving him 12 scholarship offers in total. Air Force, Connecticut, Old Dominion, Vanderbilt and Yale are among the others that have offered Thaxton, whose stock is on the rise.
