No one on the current Virginia lacrosse roster has ever beaten Duke. No one on last season’s Virginia lacrosse roster ever beat Duke. The last Cavalier victory over the Blue Devils came in 2004. Six years, five seasons (Duke cancelled the 2006 season), seven straight losses to Duke. It’s enough to make any Virginia fans’, or players’, blood boil.

“It definitely makes it harder to sleep at night when you think that we’ve never beaten Duke, and it makes it harder to sleep coming into this game as well,” senior midfielder Max Pomper said.
