With football season fast approaching, the Hoo Preview will provide some opponent snapshots in the coming days.

The team’s lone home game in November comes after a bye week, which could help the Hoos pull off an upset. Miami was tabbed by the ACC Kickoff media to win the Coastal Division while Virginia was picked to finish last. Still, the Cavaliers have beaten Miami three out of four years with Mike London at the helm.

The Hurricanes hope to build behind running back Duke Johnson, who is back healthy after missing five games last fall with a broken ankle. He still posted 920 yards a year ago and has 1,867 in his career to date to go with 16 touchdowns. That should help true freshman quarterback Brad Kaaya, who will start the opener this season.

On the other side of the ball, keep an eye on linebacker Thurston Armbrister. The senior started just six games last season and posted 33 tackles but reports out of Miami training camp have him involved in various roles for the linebacker corps.
