Catching Up With UVa WR Recruit Joseph Reed

Joseph Reed will play wide receiver when he arrives at the University of Virginia next year. For now, though, the 6’2”, 205-pound senior is the starting quarterback for Randolph-Henry High School (Charlotte Court House, VA), which is 2-2 heading into tonight’s matchup against Goochland.

This is Reed’s first go as the Statesmen’s full-time quarterback. So far, he is enjoying it. Reed’s rushing ability has been on full display as he went for over 300 yards and six touchdowns in a win over Colonial Beach. The next week he rushed for 150 yards and two scores in a one-point loss to Lunenburg Central.

“I’m more involved with the offense now than I have been by playing receiver. I just make plays however we need to. I get to touch the ball every snap. I like that,” Reed said.
