Quick Take: True Freshman RB Tre Harbison

Tre Harbison was an outstanding high school football player, finishing his Crest (Shelby, N.C.) career with 5,770 career rushing yards (a Cleveland County record according to VirginiaSports.com) and 100 career rushing touchdowns. The 5’10”, 218-pound running back helped the Chargers to back-to-back state championships in 2014 and 2015, totaling 492 yards rushing (192 in 2014, 300 in 2015) and 10 touchdowns (three in 2014, seven in 2015) in those title contests.

Harbison committed to Virginia when Mike London was head coach, and he stuck by his original decision following London’s resignation immediately following the 2015 season. A December high school graduate, he enrolled on Grounds in January and gives an already strong running back group another capable performer.

Following the Spring Game last month, the North Carolina native took some time to discuss the first few months of his UVA experience in a “Quick Take” with TheSabre.com.
