Having been scouted by head coach Tony Bennett and company since his freshman year, Paul VI (Fairfax, VA) rising junior wing Brandon Slater claimed a scholarship offer from the University of Virginia earlier this week. In a Twitter interview with TheSabre.com, Slater was asked for his take on the offer from the Cavaliers.
“It’s one of the top schools in every category,” Slater answered. “Academics, athletics, facilities, student life, and it has a great atmosphere.”
“[Head coach Tony Bennett] said he has been watching my game closely since freshman year and he just likes how I try to get better at anything I do,” Slater replied when asked if Bennett noted what put him over the top to land the offer.
