Jaelin Llewellyn’s Rise Not A Surprise To His HS Coach

What was it about Jaelin Llewellyn that initially jumped out to Virginia Episcopal School head boys varsity basketball coach Curtis Staples, who persuaded the class of 2018 point guard to attend the Lynchburg (VA) school for the final two years of his high school career?

“His athleticism,” answered Staples, who coached the Mississauga, Ontario, Canada native and former Orangeville Prep (Mono, Ontario) standout for the first time in 2016/2017. “I watched him when I was recruiting him win a dunk contest. Somebody taped the ball to the top of the square on the backboard and he took the ball and dunked it backwards.”
