Following Virginia Visit, QB Bryce Perkins Turns Attention To National Title

Quarterback Bryce Perkins would like nothing better than to cap off his comeback story by leading Arizona Western College (Huma, AZ) to a junior college championship this Sunday, December 3.

An alum of Chandler High School in Arizona, Perkins signed with Arizona State in the class of 2015. He redshirted his true freshman season and missed his entire redshirt freshman campaign as well because of a neck fracture suffered in August of 2016.

Perkins decided to transfer to Arizona Western College, a decision he made official this past June. Having recovered from his injury, the 6’3”, 215-pound quarterback has passed for 1,172 yards (64.8% completion percentage) and rushed for 249 more while leading the Matadors to a 9-0 record. Perkins has nine total touchdowns (six passing, three rushing) and seven interceptions heading into Sunday’s title game versus East Mississippi.

“This time last year, I wasn’t sure where I was going to end up,” Perkins said. “I was injured. Just to get back is a great feeling. The success is also a great feeling.”
