Cavaliers Crawling Toward Momentum To Start New Era

You’ve heard it said you have to crawl before you can walk and walk before you can run. For parents this can be a trying time. There are falls, rug burns, and bumps on the chin; there are successes and there are failures. It is a process.

The same goes for this new era of Virginia football. The program is learning to how execute and win consistently. There have been bumps and bruises initially, and Saturday there was finally some success in terms of a victory. The Hoos defeated Central Michigan, 49-35.

To some, the idea of highlighting improvement might seem trite and insignificant. But over the first four weeks of the season the Cavaliers, under new management, have shown improvement. Not at the speed fans, coaches, or players would like to see, but there has been continued improvement.

It has not always been a consistent climb in one area. There have been two steps forward and one step back in some cases to borrow another old saying. Still, it has continued week to week and the Cavaliers finally got a win to show for it.
