Imagine catching a pass out of the flat and turning up field. Feel your eyes getting wider as you see nothing but
open grass ahead. Hear the roar of the crowd as you sprint down the sideline towards the end zone. Think how thrilled
you are to send your 3-7 rival high school back home with a loss. But while you’re doing all that, don’t forget to
look behind you before you get…BAM!!!

As you wake up you hear a peculiar sound. It’s not the voices of your teammates praying that you’re okay, or even
the gloating of the massive linebacker who just knocked you into next Tuesday. It’s a nicer, more melodic sound. Then
you realize what’s actually happening. That linebacker, that same linebacker who put you out on your feet, is singing.
Running back, meet Devonta Brown , your sinus medicine and musical entertainment for the evening.

So maybe that story’s a little bit of a stretch, but probably not by much. Brown, Virginia’s 6-3, 240-pound
linebacker commitment from Charlottesville, is also a talented vocalist.

“I sing in my spare time,” Brown said in an interview last week. “I like to sing R&B music, and I’m
also in the choir at my school, the Charlottesville High Singers. I’ve been that since 10th grade, and I
like it a lot.”
