The offensive coaches came into this game with a goal to run the football and they did exactly what they intended to do. Were it not for the two turnovers and the mediocre third-down conversion rate (42%), this would have been an A-/A+ performance.

Marques Hagans

Marques Hagans gets high marks for his leadership and toughness but falls a few notches due to the interception, some minor execution issues and some decision-making questions. At times in the second half Hagans tried to do too much and did not rely on his playmakers.

The bad exchange with Wali Lundy late in the first half ended an opportunity to continue a drive and the ‘Hoos settled for a (missed) 53-yard field-goal attempt. Hagans also gets reduced marks for the pass to Deyon Williams that was thrown behind the receiver, bounced off the shoulder pads and fell into safety Chris Kelley’s arms.
