University of Virginia Head Coach Al Groh had a very important in-home visit with 5-star tailback Toney Baker last night. I was able to talk to Toney’s father last night about the visit and what kind of impact Coach Groh made.

“The visit went well,” Mr. Baker said. “It went very well. Coach Groh’s a great guy. He was straight up and very honest. He was telling Toney that nothing’s going to be given to you on the next level and that you have to earn it. That’s what I like about him.”

Groh made the in-home with Danny Rocco, who is UVa’s lead recruiter for the Ragsdale (NC) star. Of Rocco, Mr. Baker said “I love that guy (laughs).”

While the in-home seemed to go well, the bad news for UVa is that it looks like Toney will not be visiting Charlottesville this weekend.
